Microplastics abundance in gills and gastrointestinal tract of Epinephelus fuscoguttatus-lanceolatus at the Coastal of Pulau Panjang, Serang, Banten

Microplastics are plastic particles in the size of <5 mm. Bioaccumulation microplastics marine biotas, including fishes, occurs through food chain. enter fish body their gills and mouth. Contamination inside can cause several effects, such as increasing toxicity effect, growth inhibition. This research analyzed form amount found each gill gastrointestinal tract samples. A total 15 samples cantang grouper were taken from floating net cage near Kampung Peres, Pulau Panjang. Samples transported to laboratory using an icebox. The isolated body, then destructed with HNO 3 65% for 24 hours. After hours, mixed concentrated NaCl solution a ratio 1:4. observed under light microscope three times repetition. results show that groupers mostly fragments. abundance was 51893,33 ± 2594,67 particles/individual, tracts 83926,67 4196,33 particles/individual.
